10. HAVE YOU HEARD THIS ONE?

From the August 1945 edition of ``Message to Base,"
newsletter of No. 1 CNS, Rivers, Manitoba.

Pilot Officer: "I’ve been trying to see you for the last week, sir, but you’ve always been busy.  When can I see you?"
Group Captain: "Well I suggest that you make a date with my secretary and..."
Pilot Officer: "I did sir, and we had a swell time, but I still want to see you, sir."

The sergeant had 20 men lined up for detail.  They weren’t as energetic as the sergeant thought they should be, so he tried Applied Psychology.
"I’ve a nice easy job for the laziest man here," he barked.  "Will the laziest man raise his right hand?"
Nineteen hands went up.  "Why didn’t you raise your hand?" the sergeant asked No. 20.
"Too much trouble," drawled the G.I.

Officer: "What were you in civilian life?"
     Airman: "Happier still, sir."

First W.D.: "What’s the age limit for airmen?"

An airman gazed admiringly at the beautiful dress on the leading chorus girl.
"Who made her dress?" he asked his companion.
"I’m not sure," said his friend, "But I think it was the police." – Recco.

One of our recent graduates on his way to "Y" Depot stopped off at Montreal for twenty-four hours.  Going into a bar, he ordered a Martini, drank it, chewed up the bowl of the glass and threw the stem over his shoulder.  He continued this routine for about six rounds, then noticed the bartender was staring at him.
"Guess you think I’m crazy," the airman said.
"I sure do," the bartender replied, "the stems are the best part."
